Moving Individual Plan users to Pro – What’s changing and what to expect
On July 24, 2026, the legacy Individual Plan will be retired. Every Individual Plan user is being moved to Pro and if you act before the deadline, you'll keep your current price for a full year.

ProtoPie has changed significantly since the Individual Plan was introduced. We've built ProtoPie AI, Team Libraries, and a platform that now serves design teams at some of the world's most complex product organizations. The legacy Individual Plan sits on an older architecture that can't support these features which means Individual Plan users are effectively left out as ProtoPie evolves.
What we’re offering
- 60 days notice. The retirement date is July 24, 2026. You have until then to migrate on your own terms.
- 1 year of Pro at your current price. Take the grandfathering offer before July 24 and lock in 12 months of Pro at your exact current rate, starting from the day you redeem it. Any unused time on your Individual Plan is automatically refunded within 7 working days.
- Bonus AI Credits. Migrate before the deadline and receive a one-time bonus of ProtoPie AI Credits to explore the new features from day one.
What happens to your files
Your Pies are not deleted. Your existing files stay in your Personal Space, your individual workspace for personal projects and work in progress.
We encourage you to move files you're actively working on professionally into Team Space. It's the environment built for that kind of work and where the full power of Pro is available.
What’s included in Pro
- ProtoPie AI: generate interactions, get prototyping suggestions, and move faster inside ProtoPie Studio
- Team Libraries: shared component libraries available across all your projects
- Advanced sharing: password protection, access control, and unlimited handoff recordings
- 💡 Access to everything coming next: New ProtoPie capabilities are built for Pro. User Testing which lets you run usability tests directly from your prototypes is available as a Pro add-on today, with more on the roadmap. On the legacy Individual Plan, these additions are not accessible regardless of whether you'd want to pay for them. Moving to Pro keeps the full ProtoPie roadmap open to you.

⚠️ During the brief window between cancelling and completing your Pro subscription, your account will temporarily revert to Free plan limits. Your files are preserved, full access is restored as soon as your Pro Plan is activated. Do not skip step .
2. Subscribe to Pro using your coupon code.
- Go to the pricing page and click Subscribe Now on the Pro Plan
- Log in using the same account credentials.
- Choose or create a Team Space, then enter your unique coupon code at checkout.

3. Receive your bonus AI Credits. Within 7 days of completing your purchase, you'll receive a one-time bonus of Studio AI Credits to start exploring the new features.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is the Individual Plan being retired now?
The legacy Individual Plan sits on an older architecture that can't support the features we're building, including ProtoPie AI and collaborative workflows. Continuing to run two separate systems would mean Individual Plan users are increasingly left behind as ProtoPie evolves. Moving everyone to Pro is the only way to ensure no one gets left out.
The Pro Plan has a 5GB storage limit, but my Individual Plan was unlimited. What if my files exceed 5GB?
Your existing files stay in your Personal Space, which has no storage cap. The 5GB limit only applies to your Team Space — a separate environment for professional project work and collaboration. You only need to move files there if you want to use Team Libraries, collaboration features, or AI on those specific projects.
What are the steps to transition to Pro Plan with the offer?
First, cancel your legacy Individual plan. Second, go to the pricing page and click the ‘Subscribe Now’ button on the Pro Plan card (log in is required). Third, choose or create a team space, insert your COUPON CODE in the checkout section on the right to get your offer. Lastly, complete the purchase of Pro Plan at the discounted price.
Why do I have to cancel my old plan first?
The Individual Plan and Pro use different billing systems. Cancelling your legacy plan stops future charges on the old system so your new grandfathered Pro subscription can start cleanly. Your files are not affected by this step.
What if I have a remaining Individual subscription period when moving to Pro Plan?
Prorated amount based on your remaining subscription period for the original Individual Plan will be automatically refunded within 7 working days of the new Pro Plan purchase.
What happens after my 1-year price lock expires?
After 12 months from the day you migrate, your Pro subscription will renew at the then-current Pro Plan rate. We've provided this year-long buffer to give you ample time to experience the full value of Pro without an immediate price increase.
What happens if I miss the July 24 deadline?
Your Grandfathering Offer coupon code will expire, meaning any subsequent subscription to the Pro Plan must be purchased at the full price. Your existing Individual Plan will first be migrated to a Pro Term License. This license is provided as a temporary bridge to prevent immediate workflow disruption after your upcoming renewal date. Once the Pro Term License expires, your account will be downgraded to the Free Plan.
